This year, we are living with a new definition of wellness and time appreciation. In fact, lockdown due to the pandemic, with travel restrictions and bans, have created a rediscovery of what is really valued. Is it the new scenery or is it the moments that we have? Well, we do value both. The main question here would be how do we discover new scenery without travelling?
Home Do-Over
Many of us have taken to new hobbies and one of it is the unavoidable DIYs and home decor!! House painting, upholstery change, house plants included in the rooms are what made people rediscover and appreciate their present living.
Kitchen Gardens
Who did not eat homegrown... or should we say backyard garden grown fruit or vegetable after March 2020? Yes, people did go local with their consumption and began to appreciate more and more the readily available natural resources.
Nature and The Great Outdoors
Ever heard of the term 'Forest Bathing'? This actually involves enjoying quiet time and calm moments among trees in a forest, breathing in fresh air and reconnecting with Nature. We were many to take to hiking and trekking after prolonged periods of lockdown. 'Open-air living' is becoming a way of life for all the good reasons.
Staycations To Match With Your Wellness Goals
Walking holidays or local camping sites are the go-to places (if not your backyard camps). For the obvious reasons of pandemic and sanitary concerns, added the much feared international travelling due to the highly mutable virus, people are staying local and enjoying mainland facilities more than ever. This includes nature trails, home-grown foods, fitness activities, and mental health awareness.
Slow Tourism Is The New Normal
Sustainable travel is important for many this year. The main reason for this is the consciousness about how essential our natural resources are. For a fact, the world has seen people dying for lack of oxygen and the global connectedness made people realise life teachings about health, environment, gratitude, and so forth. People are therefore slowing down for greener and richer experience instead of rushing to budget travel experiences in packed and crowded attractions.
Staycations are definitely the new wellness goals for many working professionals, parents, and families. It will surely not be a surprise if we see people enjoying more and more privileges for going greener and more health conscious.
